Hi everyone,

I want to install a ssd M2 PCIe 3.0 x 2 (240G) in my Predator Helios 300 (G3-572-75L9), however, in the specs of the laptop seems only accept ssd with interface: PCIe 3.0 x 4 (http://cdn.cnetcontent.com/b1/48/b1485267-4646-4966-9f7e-6926b2669206.pdf).

So, the ssd will work? Or it is mandatory use a ssd with PCIe 3.0 x 4 interface?

Thanks in advance.

What is the SSD that you want to install(e.g brand, model)? I have never heard or read anywhere on the SSD's specification whether it supports x2 or x4 pcie lanes. All of them support 4 pcie lanes. If you install it on 2 lanes it will work at half the advertised speeds. In your case the M.2 SSD will work.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Hi ven98, thanks for the answer,

    The ssd is this model:
    model: Kingston SA1000M8 240G (2280)
    Interface: PCIe 3.0 x 2.

    (https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-SA1000M8-240G-Internal-Performance/dp/B07BMXS6SH/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1533129861&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=ssd+kingston+A1000+m.2+PCIe+3.0+x+2).

You think that it will work?

    Thanks again!
