I recently purchased an Aspire A715-71G-55KS laptop, and noticed that BIOS doesn't display any devices or disks in boot priority menu.
Selecting that "1" option and pressing enter doesn't have any effect. However pressing F12 to bring up boot manager during boot works:
Is it intentional? Any way to fix it?

So if there's two or more bootable devices, then you can the try to change the order.  But if there's only one bootable device, then you can't change the order. Logical, don't you think? :) Jack E/NJ

There's only one bootable drive to select. Not a big selection to choose from.  =) Try also inserting a bootable stick to see what happens. Jack E/NJ

Actually, by adding a USB device, it apperared on the list.
But, the usual practise I remember from other BIOS, is to provide an order with all options from which the system can boot, regardless of their current existence.

i know what you mean and i have the same on a insydeh20 bios.  Other pc's i have allow you to set the order without having a device plugged in (usb/hdd/network drive etc)

After I thought about it extensively, it seems more logical. At least I can't find any disadvantage for now.
