Does the game also go black at the same time on a TV plugged into the HDMI port? Jack E/NJ

I havent tried yet because I currently dont have an extra monitor or tv to try it. But it happens quite frequently when I am playing games and I have to force my laptop to shut down by pressing the on button for it to work again.

What do you have the display resolution and frequency set at? What resolutions & refresh rates are recommended by the games you are playing? Jack E/NJ

The game is very smooth when I am playing its just that it will go black suddenly. I play it in all low settings .

Next time it goes black suddenly, try pressing & holding the FN key. Then press the F6 key. Jack E/NJ

Also try the FN+F5 toggle key combo when it happens. What games are causing this behavior? Jack E/NJ

    (1) What games --- other than Dota2 --- also cause this behavior? (2) FN+F5 is like a switch that toggles between the two screens. FN+F6 toggles the laptop screen on and off. Jack E/NJ

OK. Do you use any other programs or applications on this laptop?  How about youtube videos? Jack E/NJ

At the moment, I don't recommend making any system, driver or firmware changes to try to resolve this DOTA2 screen issue because it doesn't seem to be a problem with other media-dependent apps that you're using this machine for. But I do suggest that you join and post this exact same issue on the DOTA2 technical support forum to get their recommendations. https://dev.dota2.com/forumdisplay.php?f=23 Then let us know what they think before making any changes to your Swift. If it only happened one time while you were browsing, this does NOT mean there is a problem with the laptop. This occasionally happens with most machines depending on the website and your browser. The main problem with your's is with the DOTA2 game software affecting your graphics controller. Black screen issues like this are quite common for other games like DOTA2. Thus you must join and start your own thread on the DOTA2 forum and post the issue exactly as you have here. We need to have their input   https://dev.dota2.com/forumdisplay.php?f=23
I don't think you have a hardware problem since the issue is almost exclusively limited to the DOTA2 game. Jack E/NJ
