To all,
I have an H236HL monitor (obviously, out of warranty).
I work on a Microsoft Surface Pro 2; Windows 10 is my OS; recently updated.
Recently, I went several weeks without hooking up the Acer monitor and working in extended screen mode.  When I tried to establish a connection, I would receive a "No Signal" error.
I tried my own troubleshooting.
1) Power Connections
2) HDMI Connections
3) Mini Display and HDMI cords working properly
4) Check for most current driver and firmware
5) When I go to settings, the computer sees the Acer monitor, but I can't change the settings to "extend displays."

Any ideas?

If your monitor is displaying "No Input Signal," there is no image displayed from your Microsoft Surface Pro 2 to your monitor. In fact seeing that display is a good sign the monitor is working. There are several possible causes for this error. You can also isolate the issue by connecting the monitor to another computer or by connecting the Surface Pro to another monitor.

Also, please try a power reset on your monitor . Disconnect the power and data cable. press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.
Connect the power cable and power On the monitor.
Check if the monitor displays "no signal" or "input not supported" message.
Also, try connecting to another wall outlet.
If the monitor displays the message, the monitor is working fine.
