Hello,

Can somebody help me? I need the drivers for the wifi on my laptop. ACER ASPIRE E5-473-53C0, (Windows 7 x86) I can't find the specific driver on the support page for the laptop, because all their drivers are for only W8/W10 x64.

I tried using various drivers I found across the net, but none of them seem to work properly. Qualcomm Atheros 9377. The one I installed seems to install with no issues, but it seems my wifi is not working properly, it does not gets signal from any wifi connection? It is as if, its radio is turned off, but on the device manager, it is enabled?

Thank you very much for any help.

    Hello,

    Managed to fix this problem, by updating BIOS. This was my very last resort , and fortunately, it worked well.

    Hi

    Did the machine come with Windows 8.x or Windows 10 installed?  If so do you have a specific need for Windows 7 as drivers seem hard to get.

    However if it is installed/enabled according to Device Manager then perhaps a few moments at the command line can shed some light.

    Start a Command Prompt session as Adminstrator and type...  getmac

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>getmac
    Physical Address    Transport Name
    =================== ==========================================================
    48-E2-44-54-66-27   \Device\Tcpip_{FE8C17AA-1613-4F0A-9BBF-4344B97CB399}
    B0-5A-DA-DE-84-28   Media disconnected
    48-E2-44-54-66-28   Media disconnected

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>getmac
    Physical Address    Transport Name
    =================== ==========================================================
    48-E2-44-54-66-27   \Device\Tcpip_{FE8C17AA-1613-4F0A-9BBF-4344B97CB399}
    B0-5A-DA-DE-84-28   \Device\Tcpip_{614CA00E-E2B8-45F1-BD9F-DD1B26F16065}
    48-E2-44-54-66-28   Media disconnected

    You can see that the first grouping shows 3 items, 1 is active, and the 2nd grouping shows 2 active.  I plugged in my ethernet cable.  Thus the 3 items are WiFi, Ethernet and Bluetooth.

    Now grouping 3 is with my WiFi in "Flight Mode" and only ethernet shows.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>getmac
    Physical Address    Transport Name
    =================== ==========================================================
    48-E2-44-54-66-27   Media disconnected
    B0-5A-DA-DE-84-28   \Device\Tcpip_{614CA00E-E2B8-45F1-BD9F-DD1B26F16065}

    Therefore if you can do something similar we may get a clue to its whereabouts.

    Try the following and please post back any relevant results.

    netsh wlan show drivers
    netsh wlan show interfaces

    netstat -e -r -s

    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /registerdns
    netsh winsock reset catalog

    Hello Sir,

    The machine came with no OS, and I've chose Win7 because this machine will be used by my dad, and he prefers Win7 rather than Win8/Win10.

    I've done the cmd getmac.Here are the results.

    GROUP1 - Disabled All Network Adapters

    C:\Windows\system32>getmac

    Physical Address Transport Name
    =================== ==========================================================
    70-77-81-49-80-F3 Media disconnected
    F0-76-1C-C3-01-E5 Media disconnected
    70-77-81-49-80-F4 Media disconnected
    72-77-81-49-80-F3 Media disconnected

    GROUP2- Enabled LAN but unplugged Ethernet Cable, All Others Still Disabled

    C:\Windows\system32>getmac

    Physical Address Transport Name
    =================== ==========================================================
    Disabled Disconnected
    F0-76-1C-C3-01-E5 Media disconnected
    Disabled Disconnected

    GROUP3 - Enabled LAN, Plugged Cable, All others still disabled.

    C:\Windows\system32>getmac

    Physical Address Transport Name
    =================== ==========================================================
    Disabled Disconnected
    F0-76-1C-C3-01-E5 \Device\Tcpip_{AFFC8A26-0723-4265-AA68-CD45475BD84E}
    Disabled Disconnected

    GROUP4 - Enabled LAN (plugged Cable), Wifi enabled, Others Disabled.

    C:\Windows\system32>getmac

    Physical Address Transport Name
    =================== ==========================================================
    70-77-81-49-80-F3 Media disconnected  ****(is this here the mac of the wifi?)
    F0-76-1C-C3-01-E5 \Device\Tcpip_{AFFC8A26-0723-4265-AA68-CD45475BD84E}
    Disabled Disconnected
    Disabled Disconnected

    It seems my wifi is still disabled after enabling it. I Tried pressing the Fn + F3 key as I assume it is turned off and on via tha button, that still, that does not work at all?

    Any more ideas sir? Thank again.
