I am following this forum for some months now, and read many post like yours.

    In short:

1)When gaming via battery you get lower temps. It's normal, both because the hardware isn't going 100% (GPU, mostly), and because it automatically throttles the CPU cores when needed, something that the 7700hq does NOT do while plugged in power (unless you use throttlestop, that is)

2)As far as gaming temperatures go... that's also normal. I would say "unfortunately normal". You can follow hotel hero instructions in the topped post to use throttlestop, or, if you really don't want to do undervolting, check in the games for an option to activate v-sync or put a "max" to the number of FPS you get. That will also lower your gaming temperatures, but you have to operate on a per game basis.

I used throttle stop last night and theres a big change in temps while the ac is plugged but the game started to lag sometime.
After the latest Fall Creators Updates the 128 Speed Shift EEP causes a slight "lag" or drop in frames for specific games.
If youd like you can set Speed Shift EEP to 110 and it should correct the issue.

Turn on vsync - this will limit the frames to your monitor refresh rate - 60, and you should be good.
