A little bit of 2% to 5% discharge is acceptable, considering that the battery is not too old. Most of the new laptop's have fast boot enabled. Actually FastBoot keeps your hard disk on hibernate mode. So, it drains your battery even when it's not on

First thing’s first, make sure your laptop is Actually shut down, it could very well being in “Sleep” mode, rather that shut down. Another thing I ran into myself, was the laptop has a low powered shut down mode. That is to say, it’s a mode between sleep and shut down, but not hibernate. The device looks as if it’s powering down, but it will continue to send power to the USB inputs.

If you feel something is wrong, run the Power troubleshooter to diagnose the exact issue. Follow these steps:
Open Control Panel > Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the Search box and hit enter.
Select “System and Security” > Select “Power” option. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    >>You can also go to your power management settings (control panel > power options)
Change the default behavior when you close the lid of the laptop to "shut down" ( it might be set on sleep, or hibernate)
check out what the power button is set to do... it might be set to hibernate or sleep instead of shutting down.
Take your time, go through the advanced menu looking for power settings that indicate this laptop might be hibernating or sleeping rather then powering down.
When you think you've found everything, save and give it a shot.
