Acer predator 17, is the only option to turn my fans to max or can I turn them to 1/2 max speed?

I often have to run my laptop with my fans at max because if I dont my front right speaker will start buzzing loudly after some time. I looked it up and many people have concluded that my problem is my mainboard not handling voltage correctly and this somehow interplays with the speaker to cause the front right one to continuously buzz super loud. Many videos with this issue can be found on youtube. anyways I discovered that turning my fans to max for some reason stops the buzzing but I wanted to experiment with running my fans at 1/2 to preserve the lifetime of my fans. Any help would be appreciated.

also my warranty is out and I can't afford to pay for a mainboard replacement, which seems to be the only fix for the speaker buzzing, hence the ghetto engineering solution. Thanks.

Put it under custom, deselect auto, and drag sliders to middle. That should allow you set fans at 50%.

I don't think the Predator Sense utility for the Predator lines (15,17) have the custom slider for fans -- afaik that's only for the new model lines like Helios.  I'm afraid you're stuck with the default speeds (too conservative a curve, imo) or the only option of max fans.  I tried installing the Sense for Helios on my Predator and it won't install because it detects an incompatible laptop.

Try DL ThrottleStop and uncheck C1E this can stop coil whine which maybe the root of the interference on the speakers.  There may also be third party solutions that can control the fans, I'd start with SpeedFan If it works please reply as it will help others with similar issues
