Guys, I installed an M.2 SSD on the Helios 300 and now the boot is very slow. It is slow even to enter the BIOS. When I turn on, it shows a black screen for a long time. I'm guessing it's the BIOS version that's causing this. My note is with version 1.15, and on the Acer website the latest version is 1.13. I do not know if it came with version 1.15 or if it was updated by Windows Update alone (I saw in some forums that it is possible to update bios through Win Update). Is anyone experiencing the same problem? Any solution?

Hi,
Go to BIOS, press F9 button (Setup Defaults), press F10 to save and exit, check whether it helps.

It does not change anything. Only resolves when I disable SSD M.2.0

The model is Kingston 240gb SUV500M8/240G. The only problem is the lag on boot. The Windows is normal and fast.0

Hi,
It could be the SSD, another member had problems with this drive and he gave up eventually.

Could you send me the article link about the other user?
Do you think the problem is specifically this Kingston model or any ssd m.2 in general?0 -

Unfortunately no, I couldn't find his post, I can not confirm that definitely the SSD at fault as I have no hands on experience, it's better to go for Samsung Evo drives which have for it's stability.

Hi @TamasEgon,
I think it's the way the SSD is designed, I have a suspicion that double sided M.2 SSDs are not suitable for some laptops, I have come to this conclusion because another double sided M.2 SSD ADATA XPG SX8200 caused problems as well.

I'm with @brummyfan2 here don't recommend a data double sided ssds there's loads of users here with compatibility issues the double sided were made for desktops not laptops in my view
