I ran a diagnostic and it says my USB drivers are out of date.  I looked on this site to downlaod an update, but cound npt find anything. My USB ports do not work consistently, so I know I have a problem.  How do I get updated drives.  My Acer says Aspire V in the lower right corner, and on the sticker is says Aspire V13 Touch V#-372T-5051. So, what is this? a V3 or V5? It is an i5 Intl processor.  Could they make this more confusing?

    It's a v3-372T.  What is the factory-installed Windows version? Jack E/NJ

One more thing Jack, how do you use your own photo in your profile, rather than those lame avatars?  Nice hang gliding profile photo, btw.

Hover over lame avatar.  Scroll down change pix to upload your own. Does Device Mgr. show an red or yellow driver warnings. Even If none, let Windows try to update the drivers for the USB devices while connected. Jack E/NJ

I went through this diagnostic, uninstalled the USB Composite Device, rebooted the computer, and still only my port on the left hand side works. The 2 ports on the right hand side are still dead, although it says they are working properly in Device properties.  Very frustrating. I use at least 2 USB ports on a regular basis. I am almost ready to buy a USB-C to 3 port USB hub so I can work.  Any other ideas? They both went out at the same time. Also, cannot find where to upload an image for my avatar, but that is the least of my worries. Thanks

Can you guesstimate the approximate date that they stopped functioning? Jack E/NJ

Sorry can not remember when they stopped.  Tried deleting and reinstalling a couple of more times, but no success. I removed the card, took a photo, and finally found a supplier that could get the replacement part for me, Capital Data, (800) 999-4409. No one else had it, as well as E-bay or Amazon. Took a lot of time to locate this SB/Audio/Card Reader Board.

The reason I asked about the date is because a restore point might've been created in Control Panel/Settings by Win10update if System Protection was enabled and the Win10update was implicated in the USB port failures.   Jack E/NJ
