Hi I have a problem with my laptop. E5-411 series. I just open one folder then it hangs, and I forced shut it down. later on, when I am trying to open it, it only shows black screen. The power button turns on but there is no display. What should be the possible solution for this? Thanks in advance for your help. :)

    Hi @mj123

Please perform power drain by following the below steps.

1.Unplug the AC adapter from your notebook.
2.Turn the notebook over to remove the battery.
3.Hold down the power button for 30 seconds, then release the power button.
    4.re-connect the battery
5.Turn over the notebook one last time and plug in your AC adapter.
    6.Turn on your notebook.

if the issue still persist they try pressing Alt + F10 during power up. This will take you to advance options page. If you do see display then try the below steps to restore your computer. Because this issue might happen due to windows update failure.

    1. Press and hold the Power key for 5 seconds to power the system off completely.
    2. Turn on the computer and press the Alt and F10 keys at the same time when the Acer logo appears on the screen.
    3. You should see a message that says "Please Wait" and your computer will boot to a blue screen that says "Choose an option."
    4. Select Troubleshoot.
    5. Click Advance options.
    6. Click on system restore ( click restart and enter password to select restore points ).
    7. Click Next and follow the instructions on the screen.

    Hi @Rudy21

I already did the 1st one but nothing happened. About the 2nd option, is it applicable to do it even if I didn’t update my windows? Thank you for your help. 😊

    Hi @mj123

Yes, System restore would work if there were any restore points in your device, and Windows automatically creates a system restore points. So, you can surely try this and let me know if it does not work.

    Hi @mj123

In this case, you might have to perform reset which will include data loss. If you wish to proceed performing reset please click the link :
