    Hi @Pheon

You can install SSD and use the HDD as additional storage. This model supports Solid state drive:128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB, SATA 6Gb/s. Please create a USB recovery media before making any changes on your computer.

You could download Minitool partition wizard free, install the SSD and use migrate feature to transfer the contents of HDD, remove the HDD, go to BIOS and make the SSD as the first boot option. Run the laptop with SSD only and check everything works, then you can install the HDD and delete the contents to use it as additional storage.

Thanks, I just bought this laptop so there's really nothing on it except the OS. The backup is really necessary though? and is the removing of the HDD to make sure that SSD is the first boot option necessary?

Some of the officially recommended SSD for this model are listed below.

You may create the USB recovery media, it would help you restore your computer to factory settings if anything goes wrong with your computer. If you have any issue with boot from SSD, you may disconnect the HDD and check if the boot partition is correctly installed on the SSD.
