Triton 700 (GTX1080) Screen - That One Dead Pixel

TLDR Found a single all-white all-the-time pixel. Advice?

On day two with this laptop (yesterday) the loading screen of Skyrim presented this small white spec. At first I thought it was dust... But, it's a pixel. It's not all that noticeable in game, but if the screen is all black it certainly is. And it's near dead center, maybe 300-400px below it. I of course rebooted a few times and even very lightly tapped on that one spot on the screen. Even ran some YouTube videos that supposedly resolve the issue. Nothing has worked.

Again, brand new machine, and haven't experienced this before. It's noteworthy to say that it's fully up-to-date.

Is there any officially sanctioned pixel fixer? Would love your thoughts!

There is no such thing as dead pixel fixer. If the spot is black, then the pixel is dead. If it has some colour then the pixel is 'stuck' and may or may not fix itself after some time. Also a not black pixel doesn't necessary mean that it is 'fixable' as it is made out from 3 sub-pixels(Red,Blue, Green). If one of these sub-pixels dies the whole pixel won't display all colours.

The laptop is in test period, so you can return it any time during this period. For more information you can have a look at Acer's dead pixel policy here.

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Thanks so much! Good information, it's new to me. The single tiny pixel is a perpetual white. I'll check out that policy.

How long is a normal test period btw? So appreciate the follow-ups.

The duration of the test period depends on the seller. It could 1 week, 2 weeks up to 4 weeks, but in rare cases in some countries there could be none.

Is Triton 700 considered a premium model, screen-wise? It most definitely has the most premium price... I've already got a white/blueish stuck pixel on the right side of the screen. :/

    Hi,

I have a Predetor triton 700 PT715-51 series, it went to a black screen after screen freeze when currently using it, until it black out while the pc still running. I restarted , still the same problem, I close the battery & restarted again still there's no changes on it, when I restart it keeps opening with the introduction of acer sound, I even used HDMI to connect tooother monitor, but still the same.

Laptop is working at start up Acer sound on the opening theme & there is LED lighting effect on the keypads.

I appreciate with you kind assistance.

    Thanks,

    Warren
