Your PC hardware is not supported on this version of Windows 10. Contact your PC manufacturer for more information.

If I'm not mistaken this is the update that also fixes latest intel bugs (just like you can't install latest intel drivers on acer laptop), which arte considered critical. When is Acer going to serve an update to plug the holes? (considering that most laptops still suffer from audio issues
, can we even expect this any time soon? anyone know how to remove acer blockers to get latest intel drivers and maybe this update?)

Is your C drive an intel ssdpekkw256g7.  If so, that's why the block.  And the block isn't from Acer.  It's from Ms and Intel.

Ms is blocking 1803 until Intel fixes the 600 series drive incompatibilities that are causing 1803 to freeze/crash.  The block just began a couple of days ago.  I was able to get 1803 for a few days and continually reinstalled/reverted, not knowing why my g3-572 was crashing/freezing.  Once MS and Intel identified the ssd drives being the culprit (not the only culprit for 1803 users, but a common one for intel 600-series ssd drive users), Ms blocked 1803 once it senses you're on an intel ssd.

Personally, I'm glad Ms blocked 1803 until Intel sorts out the drive issue.  1709 is fine for me as at least it's stable.

As far as I can see, this has nothing to do with Acer itself.

I've actually heard nothing but bad experiences with Acer products on the new windows update.. It might be better to wait until its allowed.

The reason Acer stops the updates to Intel drivers is because the Intel drivers are custom and work best in their hardware (Acer creates all their own hardware).

If your referring to the spectre/meltdown issues then you'll be pleased/sad to know there is absolutely no fix for those issues lol. Regardless of updates the vulnerability is at a hardware level and the only way to fix is to recreate the CPU.

That's totally untrue, there were patches issued in January and then another round to fix problems introduced by the patches (reboots), but the holes are fixable from software side, just disabling some of the features of the chipset, so no program is able to access them, why would anyone even attempt to write acrticles on the impact of the patches (between 5% in newer chipsets, up to 20% in some scenario for the older ones) if there was no fix lol

In any case, the update that was blocked by Acer is a feature update putting windows at version 1803

Thanks! Seems like the drive is the blocker indeed
