Hello,
Curious if anyone else has this happen to them or may know why. Very frequently when waking the monitor from power save I get a black screen. I've been wanting to blame the input units, but multiple ones that have the identical issue. And I regularly use multiple inputs. The current configuration which I need to change again to get free sync back is:
Surface pro 4 via Surface dock to DP, PC via RX480 to HDMI 1 and a Directv Genie HR-54 to HDMI 2.
They all have the same problem, more then 50% of the time when one is switch on, the monitor clearly recognizes the device as the indicator light changes to blue and you can hear the speakers gain power, but the display turns black. Sometimes a cycling of the power will get the display to fire. Sometimes removing and replacing the input cable will get it to work. But lately I have to do both and multiple times. Resetting any of the input devices does not seem to help. And switching from one display to the other sometimes has the same affect but not nearly at the same rate. I've tried everything I know, to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hi,rtango
Follow this and check with System

These steps are the first to try and if this doesn’t solve your problem I will give you some extra things to try.

    1. Go to the start menu.
    2. Right click on My computer and choose properties from the menu that pops up.
    3. System properties will open. In Windows Vista click on Advanced Settings in the right menu.
    4. In both Windows XP and Vista you can go to the hardware tab.
    5. Click on the Device Manager button.
    6. Find your mouse in the devices list. To open sections click on the + sign next to the word. Click on the device to make it blue.
    7. Then right click on it and choose properties from the menu. See the screen shot below.

wake computer from power saving mode

    1. When your mouse properties open go to the Power Management tab.
    2. Put a tick in the box next to Allow this device to wake the computer.
    3. Press OK. See the Screenshot below.

    hi Jeevan123,

Those settings are all correct already, the monitor clearly recognizes the wake. There is an indication light on the monitor that changes from sleep to active and then after it changes its a black screen. I am certain its an issue with the monitor. The PC's wake no problem, as does the other device. This is already clearly stated above.
