Acer aspire 7750g motherboard numbers

May have damaged my motherboard by opening it up to clean the cooling fan.
At first after the cleaning it would run OK but the display would not wake up from sleep, would require a power cycle to wake the display. Then the display stopped coming up altogether. There is fan noise, but right now it's impossible to tell if it is even posting as the display is completely dark.
I replaced the display cable, and no change. My last hope will be the magnetic lid close sensor is somehow faulty....after that it is a new motherboard.

I have found some online, but am hoping the GPU is the same as mine...dont want to downgrade.
I had a 7750g-9656 with the 6850 radeon

I found this for sale

MB.RCY02.002, P7YE0, LA-6911P

Which matches part numbers on my MB (PY7EO, LA6911P) but I have no idea what the MB.RCY02.002 means....or how generic the other part numbers are. It appears some other MB with similar numbers have lower end cards....so no real way to tell.

Is there a more specific MB identifier...or an online database of the numbers?

Thanks

    Hi mdharrington,
    Aspire
7750g-9656 was shipped with two motherboard:
    MB.RB102.002 MAIN BD.DIS.GRANVILLE.4DIMM.B3
    MB.RH902.001 MAIN BD.GRANVILLE.1G.4DIMM.DIS

You'll find a white sticker with a string of characters under the barcode near the memory slots. The string of characters has to start with MBR..... The first ten are the part number of your motherboard.

Hi, MB.RCY02.002 is the Part Number for your Mother Board. If you are looking to buy same motherboard, you can contact Acer Part Partners. If you are in USA or Canada, visit the below link to get details about Acer Part Partners.

    Thanks Balatekie...
Just to be clear, that part number is for the MB with a 6850 GPU?
I just want to double check before purchasing.

    Appreciate the help

    thanks...it is MB.RB.102.002.

Still not 100% sure what the MBR CY02.002 means...is this for a different motherboard then?

Seems both those numbers are either unavailable or insanely expensive. Is there a list of 4DIMM models compatible with the 7750 series?

It would be nice to find a database to dissect what each motherboard components are. If I have to downgrade at least I can pick from the best components (GPU)

Looks like granville refers to 68xx gpu's and whistler 66-67xx gpus...
    DIMM is self explanatory
Not sure what the DIS or B3 refers to....

    mdharrington,
Very important: Do you use the pre-installed version of Windows (shipped with your laptop)?
    About
    MB.RCY02.002:
MB.RCY02.002 MAIN BD.DIS.WHISTLER.PRO.1GB.2DIMM.B3 (for Quad Core)
    France

I am guessing that the 2DIMM refers to 2 memory slots....my motherboard has 4. And I believe the whistler pro chipset refers to radeon 6650m whereas my gpu is 6850 (granville)
Any idea what the 1GB stands for (I assume GPU ram), or what B3 stands for?

Also where do you get this info laurent? I cannot find anything for motherboard numbers besides an older post of yours.

Thanks for the help so far

Magnetic lid sensor was the problem....no motherboard needed
