Acer doesn't have driver support for 32bit so I would say no.

You can give it a try but you will have driver issues.

You shouldn't really have issues with 32 bit software running on 64 bit system, you may have issues if the software needs to install device drivers to talk to a hardware device.

If the device has windows 8 64 bit preinstalled, using the recovery partition will only reinstall windows 8 64 bit again.

can you right click on the photoshop setup file and click properties

    Select Compatibility Tab

Tick Run this program in compatibility mode for:

Select a previous version of windows

    May or may not work

Photoshop 7 is a Very old software! It may not work correctly even on 32bit Windows 8! As for the twain drivers, if the manufacturer don't have 64bit drivers for your device then it is a really old device or a really bad Manufacturer! You can't expect to run brand new Hardware/OS with really old peripherals/Software, can you?

    Most probably you can't!

If by any chance there are 64 bit drivers for Windows 7for your scanner, you can try them (most Windows 7 drivers work on Windows 8) If not, you are out of luck! I had the same problem with my old Benq scanner some years ago when I installed Windows 7 64bit on my home PC but scanners are so cheap nowadays that if I ever need to use a scanner, I'll just buy a new one!

It is imposiible to change the bit version (32/64) of the OSin such a way!!! The only way is to get a 32bit Windows 8 Instalation DVD from somewhere! The CD-Key is embedded in the UEFI BIOS so it should not ask you to enter it!
