ACER ASPIRE 7 A717-71G WIFI issue disconnect

Hi,
I recently purchased ACER ASPIRE 7 A717-71G-7488 and it has a WIFi module Atheros. The WIFI keeps randomly stops - the wifi shows connected, but no internet what so ever. When I disconnect the wifi and reconnect it again the internet is back. I updated the driver, I even tried manually, also I tried installing it under compatibility mode as advised on one of the forums but no luck. Sometimes it stays connected for hours, sometimes it disconnects just after a few minutes. I checked the settings for the power and unchecked the option "Allow the computer to turn off device to save power" but still no luck.
Second issue I have is with the sound. Sometimes after boot when you put on some music to play or any sound for that matter the laptop makes a crackling sound along with the music. The only thing that helps is a restart.
I think both issues are related to the drivers not loading every time on startup.
Can someone please advise if anyone had the same issue or/and if there is any resolution?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Ventsy

Hi,
You could try the latest driver for your Wifi adapter, please check the model in Device manager and post here, go to Device manager, expand Network adapters, right click the WiFi adapter, click Properties and find the driver version in Driver tab.

Thanks for the help. Now sadly sometimes when the laptop goes to sleep and resumes after the wifi is not connected and reports that there are no networks available. I am windering if I should try updating the BIOS?

Hi,
Go to Device manager, expand Network adapters, highlight and right click your WiFi card, click Properties and go to Power management tab, untick the box against "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", click OK.

Hi,
Do you have any 3rd party AV programs installed, perhaps a trial version? If so please uninstall it and see whether it helps.

Hi,
You could also try a different DNS address, right click WiFi icon in Taskbar, click Open Network and internet settings, click Change adapter options, right click WiFi and select properties, highlight IPV4 and click Properties, select "Use the following DNS address....", you could try the address in my snip.

Hi,
Thanks for all the help. At the end, it seems to be stable now. I also realized that the tprrent client - QBittorent was causing issues as well. Now all drivers are the latest, the Qbittorrent is no more and all is good.
Thanks again for the help.0 -
