Hi there,
has anyone with the AMD Swift3 already tried BIOS versin 1.04?
My impression is, this version introduces some bugs that have not been there before.
For example, when shutting down the laptop, all USB port remain powered....
With BIOS 1.02 this did not happen, the USB ports where shut down, when the machine was shut down.
Anyone else using 1.04 around?

Did you already install v1.04? If yes, what problem were you having before installing it? Jack E/NJ

    Dear Jack,

    yes, I had 1.04 installed.
Well, I did not have any problems prior to updating the BIOS.
I just thought, AMD Ryzen is a new platform and it just may be good to have the BIOS up to date.
Thus, I did not install 1.04 due to problems, I just wanted to have the latest BIOS on my machine.

For now, I have downgraded to 1.03 and now the USB ports are powered down as expected.

As you now know, not recommended unless the update specifically addresses an issue or problem with the machine. Glad you were able to get back to an earlier version that seems to work like the original. Jack E/NJ

There is one more thing with 1.04 I think it has some patches who drops down the CPU performance. I had 10000 multicore performance in geekbench 4 and now with 1.04 dropped about 8000. Overall windows response is slower. I'm looking for 1.02 bio ver to restore but I cant find it. Also I'm waiting and hope for a new bios to fix and raise the performance. Please ACER check this out and also we waiting better and newer GPU drivers wer still on 17.7 and AMD went on Andrenaline 18.3.4 I'm absolutely sure that ACER can go better with this chip (Ryzen 5/7 2500u-2700u)

You may be right. But don't hold your breath waiting. Just check the ACER driver page every few weeks for your particular model number. Jack E/NJ
