So my laptop was working fine this morning, it was on and I just closed it, but when I got back it was off and I couldn't get it to turn on again. It's fully charged and when I push the power button the lightbulb light flashes blue but doesn't turn on. I have taken the battery out and tried to reset still same thing is happening. I have pressing and holding the battery reset button as well. Please help

What ACER model number do you have? Does the blue LED seem to have pattern to its flashes. For example, 2 flashes pause 2 flashes? Jack E/NJ

If it's not plugged in when I push the power button it just quickly flashes blue once. Of it's plugged in it will continuously flash until I unplug it.

If it's plugged in, is the charge indicator LED Blue? Orange? Or unlit? Jack E/NJ

It was orange but after charging all the way it's blue.

While plugged in, press & hold the power button for about 5 seconds. Release. Then press the power button again to try to turn it back on. Jack E/NJ

I have, many times, and it just does the same...continues to flash blue.

After trying to turn it on while plugged in it flashes every 5 seconds, continuously. Even after holding down for 5seconds.

    >>>I have taken the battery out >>>

When you took out the battery, were any flexible ribbon cables and their connectors to the motherboard accessible? A short one connects a charger board. If you can try to re-seat connectors a few times to clean contacts, it may resolve the problem. Jack E/NJ

Can you trace a flex cable from the power button to a small board? That small board, in turn, has another flex cable that goes to the motherboard. Jack E/NJ

The power button is attached to the small board itself and yes I see the cable attached from there to the mother board.

I was just told by geek squad support that it's a hard drive issue.

Would usually get a BIOS "no bootable device" message or beep codes if the ACER logo didn't appear. But anything's possible. Probably best to re-seat the connectors as long as your in there and button it back up. Give it one last try. Then decide if you want them to take a shot at it. Jack E/NJ
