New to the forum and new to Acer predator laptops. I just recently purchased the predator 15 with 1TB HDD and 512 TB SSD, the one with 1070 GeForce. Anyway, started getting it up and running and now when I unplug the power supply cord, the laptop will shutdown (pretty much dies).  I am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.  I am already in the process of returning it and exchanging it for a new one.  Hopefully, I am making a wise choice on sticking with this Acer predator 15.  I am hoping it was just a fluke and that this laptop was damaged in delivery.

is battery recognised by system? (battery icon near clock and date

is battery charging when plugged? (middle orange led)

That's a good question.  I had to go back and check.  The battery light does come on when the laptop is plugged in, it's an orange light.  The Laptop won't reach a charge of 100%, its only made it up to 90% charged.

So just a bit more information, when the laptop becomes unplugged from the power supply it doesn't immediately shutdown. it will shut down once I pick it up and try to move the laptop.  It seems like it doesn't like to change its angle or be tilted.

ok, good report about moving it.

Contact Acer support service and send it back or exchange it, contacting your seller.

i suppose a bad battery cable connection or maybe some screw not well tighten.

Thank you, I am already in contact with the seller and they have already started the process to send me a new one.  It's too bad I have to wait a few more days for the replacement - I hope it's worth the wait.

I had exactly the same problem. Solution - put your laptop into sleep mode. Unplug supply, wake it up from sleep mode and you are done - now you can plug and unplug supply and its working normally.

Man, if it's that simple of a fix I should call up UPS and have them turn around. Dang it, I already sent it back and can't test out that fix. Thanks for the suggestion. I have no clue how you came up with that though.

sounds like a bad cell pair in the battery to me. Contact your vendor and request the battery to be changed.

Since I bought the laptop, I was not able to use it efficiently because of the internal problems. I had it repaired for 4 times already.
