    Hi,
You could try undervolting with Throttlestop without loosing performance, please find the instructions in the video, you could also ask questions from other users in the link provided.

It's a bit concerning, you should undervolt or get acer to help if under warranty.
    Hope that helped you.

If your laptop is relatively old you can asos try repasting thermal paste.
    Hope that helped you.

I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-51-77VW which is the i7 version
And man it runs hot !
    I have-
    1 undervolted my cpu by - 110
2- set the maximum processor state to 75 % which disables turbo boost and runs the cpu in the maximum frequency around 2005 mhz which is quite low
3- yes i have coolboost on

After all this the temps while playing any game reach 92 gpu and 92-96 cpu within 20 mins of gaming

Perhaps i wonder i should start operating my laptop while sitting inside the refrigerator ?

Sorry for the rage but the laptop is just 5 months old.

Hey @brummyfan2 , I undervolted the CPU by the temps given by @PotatoBoy here https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/550299/nitro-5-an515-52-heat-issue (cpu core by 0,1850 cpu cache by 0,170, couldn't find how to reduce the gpu in throttlestop) and I still can't play the game (Star Wars Battlefront 2) in any settings except all Low, at 720p to maintain temps of 80C.

    Haalp! :D:'(<3

    AND I HAVE A COOLING PAD! :'(:'(:'(

    @AnirudhRived

This is very far from a normal temperature, especially considereing that you have even disabled turbo boost, which you are not supposed to do. The same goes for the GPU.

The CPU and GPU need repasting with a high quality thermal compound like MX-4 or thermal grizzly kryounaut. You can do it yourself(voids warranty if you are not in the US) or send it to an Acer service centre for repasting(they will repaste it with their on thermal paste).

Even sitting in the refrigerator or the freezer if you will, without any good means of dissipating the temperature, because of a bad thermal paste application it won't make much of a difference.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.
