Wifi won't work when ethernet cable is plugged in

Hello, I have my printer setup on an ethernet network and internet on wifi. I used to be able to have the ethernet cable plugged in while still being able to access the internet via wifi. Yesterday I ran into an issue that prompted me to update my bios, Killer drivers, and Killer Control Center. My bios is now at version 1.13 and I installed KillerPerformanceSuite_1.5.1847_Win7_Win81_Win10_x64.exe (complete installation). I have a Predator G9-793 and Killer Wireless-AC 1535. At first everything worked great. I was able to have my ethernet cable plugged in and access the internet via wifi.

After my computer went through a sleep cycle, I found that I could no longer access the internet via wifi. I am still able to see wifi networks near me, of which there are about 20 or so. So wifi is working, at least to the extent that I can see other networks near me. But I cannot access the internet. I tried rebooting my computer. That had no effect. I tried unplugging the ethernet cable and instantly was able to access the internet. Plugging the ethernet cable back in instantly disables my ability to access the internet.

Does anyone have any suggestions? One thing that comes to mind is to try uninstalling Killer Control Center. I see that as a last resort. I would like to know if there are any other suggestions. I believe the problem should be solvable without uninstalling Killer Control Center since I was able--initially--to have the ethernet cable plugged in and access the internet via wifi whilst Kill Control Center was already installed and running.

Alrighty, Killer Network gave me another thing to try. They suggested that I bridge my wifi and ethernet. It was really easy to do. All I had to do was go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections (i.e., "change adapter settings"), and highlight both the wifi and ethernet. Then I right clicked on one of them and slicked Bridge Network.

And everything seems to be working!

P.S. I thought I should mention that Killer Networking tech support was very nice to work with. So two thumbs up to Killer Networking. :)

    Hi,
Give this a try, it may or may not work but worth a try.
Go to Settings, click Network and Internet, click Wifi in the left pane, click Manage known networks in the right pane, click the unknown Networks(neighbours'), and click Forget. Reboot and check whether this resolves the problem.

Thanks for the suggestion brummyfan2. Evidently, I had one wifi network on the list that I do not recognize and is not a wifi I know that I use. After forgetting it and rebooting, my issue is not resolved. I did take the liberty of submitting a question to Killer Networking. I will keep this thread updated with any help they provide.

For sure! Luckily, I can work around the issue by leaving the ethernet (and hence my printer) disconnected expect for when I need to print something.

Killer Networking said that when there is no internet connection via ethernet and only via wifi, that the Killer Control Center would not allow wifi to be used to access the internet since it always assumes that the internet is accessible via ethernet. So they did recommend that I uninstall the Control Center and use just the drivers.

When I went to using just the drivers, I still had to keep the ethernet unplugged. But a few days later, I had to use my printer, which caused me to plug the ethernet cable back in. I forgot to unplug it afterwords. It turns out that I am now able to keep the ethernet cable plugged in. So, anyways, it's working now.

Ah, I forgot that I decided to leave the ethernet cable plugged in, but disabled the ethernet card. So the issue is *not* resolved, and Killer Network's solution did not work.
