BIOS can't detect ssd on my Predator G3-710

The past few days my PC has been un-bootable. I can access the bios okay, but when I let it load it'll tell me Reboot and select proper Boot Device...or to enter bootable device and press any key. I have taken many steps to try and correct this and am slightly computer savvy. So far nothing has corrected it.

So I had updated bios as many people stated the bios were a problem. I did this about a week before my computer had this problem. Looking in my bios at startup it states that it's still R02.A0 when I did update to A3. So now that I cannot access windows I tried updating through EFI on a USB stick. I am unable to access the Boot Menu after pressing F12 I get the same Reboot and select proper Boot Device error. So all I can access is the bios menu.

I disabled secure boot and made sure boot menu is enabled. I saved and exit. I've tried resetting defaults and doing the steps over again. I even tried to take out the CMOS battery and see if that would fix it. I made sure all wires and cards in the tower itself were all secured properly.

In my Bios the SSD doesn't show up in advanced tab and the regular HDD is showing as well as a HDD I have in the expansion bay. I do not however see any listing for the SSD.

I am not sure what to do about this now and I would be grateful for some help.

no, BIOS can be flashed only via Windows.
about windows 10, you can create for free a bootable installation media:
    1) download a windows 10 iso using Microsof tool:
select the proper windows 10 version (the same installed on your laptop) and choose to save it as iso file when prompted
    2) download Rufus:
plug your USB flash drive, run Rufus then:
select ISO image from the dropdown menu near "Create a bootable disk"
click on the little icon on the right and browse to the windows 10 downloaded iso file
as  Partitions scheme select "GPT partition scheme for UEFI"
    as File system select "FAT32"
    click on Start
wait until it finish, then uplug your USB flash drive
    3) backup all your personal data
    4) Reboot to BIOS, pressing F2 at boot, then press F9 to load default and F10 to save and exit
    5) plug your USB flash drive and at boot press F12 (if F12 doesn't work, see if it auto-recognise the USB flash drive or press F2 to enter BIOS and enable F12 boot menu under BOOT tab), choose the USB flash drive as bootable device

The SSD is an M.2? So no Sata cable...it's directly on the motherboard. I tried reseating it. I tried unplugging the other HDDs to see if it'd get recognized but no change.

Is there some other option to enable F12 boot menu through BIOS on my PC? I have made sure boot menu option is enabled.

nope, not other way, just boot menu enabled.
you must be able to enter it, pressing the F12 key at boot.

    had you follow this instructions?

Yes, I've followed those instructions and was very hopeful. My hopes are crushed when I get to Tap F12 to enter the Boot Menu. <--- Once I tap F12 it gives the same statement of Reboot and select proper Boot Device. It will not allow me to enter the Boot Menu.

    that's really strange.
i can only think to a temporary windows 10 installation on the HDD or other HDD, just to update the BIOS and then check if the SSD is recognised or not.

other option is to call Acer support service.

I am really hating this because I've tried as many things possible myself. Do you think if I have a HDD with windows 10 it'll work? Although, I tried connecting a Windows Vista HDD from my older tower and while it will detect these HDDs (they show up in peripherals) it isn't showing up as a bootable option in the BIOs. Nothing shows up there. I have tried emailing Acer support through a few different emails addresses and from where I've bought my tower, but haven't heard back from anyone as of yet!!

Vista can't boot since it's not UEFI compatible.
i'm quite sure that a windows 10 HDD will be able to boot.

Okay awesome! I didn't know! Is Linux compatible? I don't have a windows disc or restore disk so I'm thinking I can make some USB bootable device in order to try and update those bios or borrow a friend's hard drive with Windows 10 on it. Unless there is another way.

After a bit of tinkering that seemed to do the trick. I was able to update my BIOS and ended up in a boot loop, but I just did a reinstall of Windows and it's working like it should be now. Thank you Thank you So Much for your help!
