Hi everyone,

I have the Acer Aspire R 15.6 (R5-571T-56LP) and was wondering how I can set up two monitors to this laptop if there is only one HDMI port?

Google HDMI splitter. About $20 with free shipping. Jack E/NJ

Thanks JackE.  I will try that.  Someone also told me to try a docking station.

HDMI splitter from what I have read will only give me two screens with the same image.  What I wan is to be able to work on different things on each monitor.  For example, I would like to do some Word docs on one monitor and some internet and Excel on the other monitor.

Well, sure you can extend the desktop so that Word fills the laptop screen and Excel fills the external screen. But if you're hoping to do that plus add 2 or 3 more monitors to work on filled screens 2 or 3 more applications running on the same desktop, no. Jack E/NJ

What you need is a displaylink USB adapter. You can connect a full dock for under $100 (includes USB 3.0 ports, gigabit Ethernet, multiple monitors but if just need one more monitor then one of these is less expensive.

I was just able to get an extended display working from the USB-C port by downloading the driver here: http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/windows. I assume I would be able to get a second external display through the HDMI port still, though I haven't tried it. Seems like it's worth a try before investing money in a dock or adapter.
