My original power chord recently stopped working on my Acer Aspire 4339-2618 laptop so I ordered a new one. I've been using it only for a full day with no issues and now the new chord is no longer charging. Can anyone help with this problem?

Is the laptop working fine on battery power?
Do you see any indicator lights when you plug in the charger?
Remove the battery and check only by connecting the charger.

If you have already tested he charger you may ignore the steps.

Here are few tips you can follow when testing your battery charger to make sure that you do not have any troubleshoot problems.

1)Please check the outlets that power your chargers.First, plug another device into it and see if it works properly. You can also plug your charger into another outlet and see if it will charge your battery.
2)You can use a voltmeter by connecting the device to your charger. Touch the contacts of the charger with the probes and make sure that you get a reading. If you do not get a reading, switch the probes and try again. If you still do not get a reading, you charger may be dead.
3)Look at your charger and see if there are any parts of it that may be broken or warped. Look at the prongs that connect to your outlets as well as the piece that will actually charge your battery. Make sure that nothing is bent, broken or missing, and that it responds properly to your touch.

If the issue still persts, check the charging port on the laptop.
Post back the status for further help.

I just received the new charger in the mail yesterday and everything was working and the battery charged. It was working until a couple hours ago. The battery was getting low so I plugged it in to charge and the indicator light no longer came on and it did not show it was being charged on the desktop. I took the battery out and tried using the chord but would not boot up and no lights came on. I tried other outlets in the house and still got nothing. The charger is brand new so there is nothing bent or broken as far as I can tell. Is there anything else I can try?

UPDATE: I think I've found the problem. Not only did I need a new charger but a battery as well. The battery life is at 0% but works only when plugged in. It's not charging at all so I plan on buying a new battery next and hopefully everything will be fine.

I appreciate all your efforts in trying to fix the problem. Even if the battery is defective the device should work fine when only the new charger is plugged in. Please check if the port on your device that you plugin the charger is working fine.

The new charger was working fine all day and then suddenly stopped charging later that night. The input looks fine as far as I can tell

Please try to consult a local technician and check the plugging in any other compatible AC adapter. The laptop should work fine even though the battery is not inserted. Also, check the port where you plugin the charger fro any defects.
