hi to the group ....I hope that members with this laptop can chime in here to help me out ...
this new laptop seemed promising in all the reviews that I read , bought it threw in another GB of DDR4 = 12 now plus a 256GB SSD , that all went well , now am using it I am struggling with the washed out , double image , ghosting that happens when I scroll on any web page , I am using the touchpad ....my wife has a few year old MacBook that doesn't do that , its very smooth scrolling ....so I am wondering if what I am experiencing is "normal" for this laptop ? maybe without a dedicated GPU this is what you get ??
I updated the OS and did check the display drivers , they seem to be current .
Other functions are normal , playing video , loading etc
thanks for your input !!!

    Hi,
Go to start and type cmd, right click and run as Admin, type sfc /scannow
Run this command at least 3 times and see whether it fixes the problem.

thanks for that ...not sure if it made a difference ..the scan result says no issues ...I did turn the contrast down and the brightness up a bit , that somewhat mitigated it  , still have the  issue when scrolling but maybe I am just being too picky ...do you experience anything similar?

    Hi,
You could try reinstalling the display driver, go to Device Manager, expand Display adapters, highlight and right click graphics, go to Driver tab in Properties, uninstall the driver, reboot and let Windows install the driver.

thanks Brummyfan  I will try that later , I was on the phone for sometime w the acer support fellow he had me reset the unit completely twice ( I don't have any files on it yet ) but that didn't matter as it turned out ...the message was "there was a problem and reset could not be done "
they will send me a recovery disc then I need to contact them again for the next round ..as noted I thought that turning the contrast down helped but there is a fine line between acceptable display and terrible scrolling ....this really bugs me it kind of feels cheap , like a bargain basement unit a few years old . I very much hope that it comes down to settings or hardware issue so I can get it fixed .

    1. Did that reinstall Brummyfan to no avail ...everything is the same as before , do you have an experience like mine ?  I just want to know if this issue is "normal" ? I cannot seem to find others that have the same laptop to get their take on it .
    2. thanks

    Hi,
No, I didn't experience this effect, this could be related to refresh rate of your screen or the response time, if it's relating to refresh rate, you can not do anything about it, could you please post the make and model of your screen. You can find out by going to Device manager, expand Monitors, go to Properties of Generic PnP monitor, click Details tab, select hardware IDs and google the monitor details from Value window.
