Hi!
After an upgrade yesterday my laptop is not working. It starts up with the acer screen and I am asked to login as normal. But after that the screen turns black. The only thing to be seen is the cursor. I  have tried an external screen, but that doesen't help.
What can this be and how can it be solved? Does anybody know?

Regards,
Gisle

If you have black screen with cursor issues, you can try pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc or Ctrl + Alt + Del in order to start Task Manager. From Task Manageryou’ll be able to start Device Manager by doing the following:
Press File > Run new task.
Enter devmgmt.msc and press Enter to run it.
When Device Manager opens, locate your graphic card, right click it and choose Uninstall. If asked, make sure that you check Delete driver software for this device. Restart your computer, and check if the issue still persists.

    Sharanji,
Thank you for your comment! Unfortunately when I click the task manager, it won't start either. Only black screen... Any other ways to fix this?

I've had the same exact issue on a Acer Predator 17 that is 2 months old. ANY keyboard, touchpad or mouse input at all gives you a black screen with cursor that returns to the windows login screen after a minute of so. Unable to start in Windows safe mode either, goes from Acer Logo to windows screen, but cannot login to windows. CTR+Alt+Del or Ctrl + Shift + Esc or doesn't work. I tried resetting the battery and everything. I felt like I had a $1,500 brick that I need for work!  HOWEVER! I am able to enter BIOS using the F2 key at startup. I just changed the sound and animation back to ENABLED, and it started working again. NOT A WINDOWS 10 problem, an ACER BIOS conflict issue. It sucks though that everyone has to hear my laptop startup at work.
