Acer veriton 6900pro after connecting the necessary peripherals and plugging in the power cable, the blue light on the power switch is already lit before I turn on the pc and the processor fan spins for 2or3 seconds and then stops.  To boot up the pc I have to press the power button that is already lit and the PC boots up fine and appears to be working fine.  When I power down the system I follow the normal operation and everything is fine apart from the blue power light stays on you only know it has powered down because the fans have stopped. Can only extinguish the blue light by disconnecting the power cable.  I have tried everything including looking at the bios settings to no avail.  Has anyone else ever had this problem the pc operates ok apart from this annoying problem I have 4 GB of ram and running windows 7 operating system with 128mb graphics card which I have removed and makes no difference.

Thanking you in anticipation

I have resolved the power problem.  Posts 3 and 4 of the RAM are faulty after taking out the ram which I have acertained are working correctly.  The PC now powers up and shuts down normally.  Very strange symptons as the PC operated perfectly apart from the power problem.

I am sorry if this ridicule you but why do I have a strange instinct that the problem is with your sleep and power saver settings? I mean, don't get me wrong but we've to look for all possibilities. I suggest you play with your sleep and shutdown settings as well? On a software perspective, this might fix the issue after all man.

OK-RanY2J There is no ridicule taken because I originally thought the same, that it must be an hibernation problem I have checked the BIOS power settings several times and do not appear to resolve the problem.  That is the reason I have asked the forum for help hoping that someone else has had the same problem.  I personnaly can live with the problem but because I want to pass the computer on to my nephew who has no idea at the moment I would like to resolve this problem of the power LED coming on without switching the power switch on.  I have even tried changing the power supply.  Many Thanks for your cooperation.
