I have an old Aspire 3610 laptop.  It has a Celeron M processor and I've updated it to 2GB of memory.  I downloaded the Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft and installed Windows 10 (it does appear to run ok) but have several devices in Device Manager that said they couldn't get the resources they required.  This includes such things as the wireless, a IDE controller, some of the USB devices, the sound devices, etc..  In researching on the net it appears these errors come from conflictig IRQ's, etc., like in the "old" days.  The BIOS has no options for enabling/disabling any devices or for changing the resources it wants to use.  Obviously this left me with a less than satisfactory result, so I installed Linux Mint 18 on it for now.  If someone has gotten Windows 10 installed and everything working on this device please let me know.

Thanks!

Did you check to see if any Device Mgr rollback drivers were available? If not, did you try any of the ACER XP-era drivers and, if possibile, try to install them under WinXP compatibility mode? Jack E/NJ

Thanks JackE - I'm going to try that tonight as I did find a sight to download all of the XP drivers.

First, you might want to try the ACER-specific XP-era drivers if you haven't done so already.  www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/112?b=1
