Two weeks ago I installed a pirate copy of fallout IV downloaded from internet. A warning message appeared on screen about dangerous site, I continued and installed the game, even played a little to it.8g
Next morning when I turn power on, it got stucked on acer logo starting screen. No response to any possible combination of keys (f11, f12, f10, f3, del, f5...) After a while it sounded like processor and hard drive working but nothing happened at all. Only thing I could be able to do was pressing (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and restart to the same point, and use the Fn buttom with the fs for lighting on the keyboard backlights.

I was convinced that a virus destroyed my bios file, and I went to a computer repairing shop to repair it, but after a week they told it was the motherboard. Such a money for a virus attack.

I get my acer back home and when i power it up, now it doesn't even acer screen logo appeared, nothing except a black screen and sound of working cpu/hd. Ctr Alt Del works to reinitiate, and also it reinitiates constantly after 1 or 2 minutes. I don't know if in the shop they ***** it more than it was. Backlight keyboard also can be disabled, but nothing more I can do. I have an old 1500 dollars paperweight now at home. Totally desperate I am!!!!! Any idea?????

    try a battery reset:

and if you are still under warranty, contact Acer support service.

Excuse me, but the problem is not with power, it has power!! The problem is starting the bios and the windows!! Lights on, leds on, but screen in black!!! Hd-cpu sounds like working, and then it restarts cyclically!!!!. I am totally dejected :scream:

i know but sometimes, taking off completly power from the laptop will help sort this kind of issue, maybe not your case but worth a try.

had you also checked if the ram sticks are well seated?

Don't know why the F2 key is not getting you to the BIOS but if you left the machine on overnight you might have picked up a WIN10 upgrade that went awry and caused a boot loop. I've had that happen on my VN7-792G that had the HD going bad and it got into a boot loop state because it couldn't go back or complete the upgrade.

But you should still be able to access the BIOS via F2 unless you weren't pressing the button properly.

Not sure how you can recover the BIOS now. You can setup a USB stick with a winPE bootable to try and examine the HD drive for status and the presence of your files and WIN10 integrity. Other thing to do is to remove the HD drive and connect to a Desktop and at least pull all the files off it before reformating.

You can try this to reload the BIOS for your machine - https://www.logisticsct.com/blog/acer-black-screen-no-post/

One other thing - hookup a monitor/tv to the HDMI port and make sure the output isn't going external vs the laptop display since you were gaming extensively.
