Loosing double tap in touch pad (Why?)

I have a problem - generally I have always keyboard attached to my Switch Alpha 12. I work a lot, and type with stylus as my mouse over the screen and sometimes I notice that touch pad stops double tapping , a need to press left down touch pad to activate/close etc. Whenever I disconnect the keyboard and connect again it works until it stops. Before it happens there is always the sign to tablet/keyboard mode on top of the screen.

Any ideas?
Thank you in advance :-)

That seems normal. You must first touch any key to wake up or turn on backlight. So all keys act only as a light switch when the backlight is off. Keys won't print to the screen until backlight is turned on. Jack E/NJ

You probaby should've gotten the Switch 5 that you were fussing about. 8^) I personally can't use the SA12 touchpad (or any touchpad for that matter) so I disable it. But if you use the touchpad, you might want to open Device Manager when this happens to see if there are any red or yellow warnings listed. Jack E/NJ

In DM all is just fine. Here in Poland Switch 5 was not available at the time of my purchase. There was an option for German version with QWERTZ keyboard, so I rejected it. Otherwise, I would've bought it.

Is DM fine when this happens? Or don't you know yet? Jack E/NJ

    Hallo again
In DM all is OK, even when it happens. Moreover I have noticed, that whenever the keyboard switches off the backlight, to start typing I need to double click the key, so for example if the keyboard is inactive and I start typing the first letter is not typed. Any ideas?

I am pretty sure it did not work this way before. The backlight turns off pretty quickly, but am not saying you are not right. I must explore more.

Yes probably. First check Control Panel. Search "power". There may be power options to never and time periods to turn KB backlight off with and without charger attached. Jack E/NJ
