I have heard about repaste and undervolting, but maybe ask you first guys.

Thanks

First, what surface are you using the laptop on? If the laptop has good airflow and still reaches these temperatures, then you need to send the laptop to Acer for repair. Of course you can do it yourself but i highly advice sending it to Acer before doing it yourself.

Try undervolting the CPU first with ThrottleStop, should be able to reduce the temp by 10C or more.

Did you just get it? It would probably be quicker to ask Amazon for a replacement if you bought it recently.

As for Acer Support, go here: http://customercare.acer.com/customercare/Default.aspx

I just downloaded the ThrottleStop, what settings to put? and will it work when you close it or it has to be open all the time>?

ThrottleStop needs to be running, start by reducing the CPU core & Cache by -80mV and the Intel GPU by -50mV.  Then test the system, if all is good you can drop the voltages further, say -5mV at a time.  All CPU's are unique with some have greater tolerance for undervolting.  My own experience is that once you exceed core & cache offset of -125mV likelihood of the system crashing is more likely with the 7700HQ.  Don't chase the maximum possible undervolt as it may result in an unexpected crash at some point down the line, better to find the point of stability and increase the voltage's slightly to ensure stability.

There are links in the sticky'd posts at the top of the forum and many decent guides on the Web & YouTube, including automating ThrottleStop with Task Scheduler.  Alter a good deal of testing on my G9 793 i7 7700HQ , GTX 1070, 32Gb  Ram with Prime95:

    CPU stable down to -140mV
    System locks up at -150mV
No thermal throttling at -130 over sustained testing all CPU cores at max frequency.

Opted for Core & Cache voltage offset of -130mV as this offers a good reduction in overall CPU temperature, even under sustained synthetic load no thermal throttling.  Set profiles for Performance and Battery with only difference of disabling Turbo Boost on battery to help extend the runtime.  If any issue occurs I'll simply reduce the Core & Cache offset by 5mV.  Disabling Turbo Boost on non CPU intensive games will also reduce temperature under load.

Intel XTU service I left as the default delayed start, disabling the service results in PredatorSense being usable read the CPU frequency.  As per guides if wanting to auto start ThrottleStop best to delay 30-60 seconds or more.

CoolBoost on and Frost Core installed
