Why videos are lagging only when HDMI is connected?

Hello-
I recently purchased a new Aspire E5-576G (i5-8250U, 8GB, W10 Pro, Intel 620 & GeForceMX150).

Online videos and locally stored MP4's for example, do not play correctly when connected to a external monitor via HDMI.   Either the video is choppy or the sound is not in sync with the video.
Clears up the moment I unplug the HDMI cable.

Windows is fully patched and I updated all the video drivers (and any others) as well in my attempt to correct this.  I need this fixed, laptop is useless to me if I can't connect to an external monitor without issues.

I appreciate any suggestions.

    I am cloning and extending.
    But...
I just uninstalled/installed the video driver.  Seems to have cleared up the issue.  Maybe.
Going to keep testing before i declare this fixed since I did the same thing yesterday!

When your external source is lagging or choppy, the problem is that the connection from your computer to that source is the issue. If it is a TV for example, it cannot either handle the quality or the cable might also be faulty. Can you try a different HDMI cable and see if that works? Maybe it might be the problem after all.

    Hi Ran-
It's not the cables or the monitor.
This issue occurs on different monitors using different cables.  I also tested the video playback with the same connections on a different computer to be sure.

Thanks for the clarity man. Are you choosing extended display, are you cloning the display? Can you choose the external display to your monitor and see if the lag persists? All these can be done via pressing the start button on your Windows. Once pressed, just type Display and you'll have these options.
