hi, bought this recently from ebay after reading that the battery life was supposed to be 15 hours, but mine is only about 2. learned that it was already one year out of warrantee, so i guess about two years old. but when i check the stats it says the battery is in good condition. willing to buy a new one if i can get 15 hours out of it

If it has been mostly plugged in for 2 years with a non-removable battery, the battery is probably not charging all the way.
Open a command prompt as Administrator and type powercfg -energy. Then look in C:/Windows/System32 for energy-report.html.
Scroll down in the report and find Battery:Battery Information. You want to see the difference between the design capacity of the battery and
the last full charge,
mine,Design Capacity 37300 Last Full Charge 37100 1

wow, what a wealth of information. that's one main reason i like windoze over mac is you can dig much deeper into the system.
my results:Battery:Battery InformationBattery ID 00001OEMstandard Manufacturer OEM Serial Number 00001 Chemistry LiON Long Term 1 Sealed 0 Design Capacity 23760 Last Full Charge 21600
i gather those numbers are minutes? if so then 21600 i gather works out to 6 hours, which was certainly not my last full charge. maybe because of my high cpu due to low ram (i'm getting that upgraded soon). i'm sure it didnt last longer than 3 hours. strange that all over the internet everyone was raving how it lasts 15 hours. will approach acer if they sell a different battery, because i operate off solar and often like to work after midnight until morning when the internet is fast here, and my solar battery is insufficient. thank you for your help.0
