Hello, I have the acer aspire es15 and i never had any microphone except the internal one, now that i have an headset my computer doesn't detect the microphone.
Whenever I go to the setting it only detects the internal one, not the one on my headset.

Connectors on the computer marked with a headset with a microphone support sound and the use of a microphone when used with a headset with a four-pin plug and a microphone.

From the Start screen, type sound, then select Sound from the search results. Click the Playback tab in the Sound window. Right-click an empty area of the Sound window. Click Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. If listed, play an .mp3 music file to test the headphones or speak into the microphone to test a headset. If the gray bars next to the device name change to green, the device is active and an audio signal is passing through the line-out port.

This model has Combo Audio Jack with stereo headphone output and mono microphone input

If I am right then you would probably need an adapter of some kind to get a normal plug to work with it. Some has a 4 segment plug rather than the normal 3 segment kind.

The combo jack does work all the types but Microsoft program only let you use the onboard mic to record ,

The best option is to use a usb video/audio capture device instead of that confusing combo jack.

I've figured that out before any help, it doesn't show up.
It stays on the internal microphone.
The mic doesn't get detected by my computer, are there any ways I can change the mic it chooses?
However the headsets mic does work on my mobile phone.
