Hello all,
I've recently purchased a Swift 5 which is great apart from the internet speeds I am getting. Through speed testing I have got up to ~100Mbps, which is what I expect from my Virgin BB, but most of the time I am only getting 0.5-1.0 Mbps. I am performing these next to my old laptop where I get ~30Mbps. This is incredibly frustrating and makes the laptop almost unusable. I cannot think what the problem could be. The laptop clearly has the potential to reach high speeds so I'm not sure it is a hardwear problem as such, I don't think it is a problem with the router or the ISP, but most likely some software problem.
I've done all the basics - updated drivers etc, turned PC and routers off multiple times. Has anyone got any ideas or any approach I could take?
Many thanks!

So might have found the solution, don't want to tempt fate but it seems to be working for now... The problem seemed to be in the power settings - under wireless adaptor settings in advanced settings. I changed from maximum power saving to maximum performance when on battery and plugged in. Pretty annoyed if this is the problem as has taken me hours to figure out. This should probably be addressed Acer if you are reading....

You gotta tempt fate. Set it back to power saving plugged in to see what happens. 8^) Jack E/NJ

Yep, back down to 0.5Mbps when power saving enabled plugged in, 100Mbps when set on maximum performance. Seems to be the problem. Bit extreme on the power saving - not sure it does actually save any power as everything takes longer!
