I just purchased and Aspire E 15 and do love the laptop and have been dealing with the store for several years but this new computer shuts down without warning.  In less than a week I returned it to the store where they ran what they call a stress test plus disabled the hibernate.  Now instead of shutting down 2 or 3 times a day it shuts down once every 2 or 3 days !!! then it reboots with the message chrome didn't shut down correctly.  Restore pages.  It is very disruptive and makes me uncomfortable.  The store tells me the new windows version 17.09 does this.  I'm finding it hard to swallow but am a very unsavvy user.  I know really next to nothing about the inner workings and where it is new I don't want to screw anything up more than it is.  Does anyone know if this info I am getting is correct.

  • Hi,
You could try few things, try uninstalling any trial version AV programs(if any) installed and use Windows Defender, try disabling Fast Start-up if it's enabled or vice versa, you could also try a battery reset(this may rectify any power related problems).
You don't have to do these all at once, check one by one.
Right click battery icon, click Power Options, click "Choose what power buttons do", click "Change settings that are currently unavailable", and disable/enable Fast Start-up.
Switch off the laptop, disconnect from mains and follow the instructions in the video, once finished, let the laptop to rest for 15-20 minutes. HTH.

Thank you for your response.  I only just see it now so haven't done any of it yet.

Did this work for you? I'm having the same issues with my new Acer Aspire E15 7th Gen.

I am having a similar issue with my Acer Aspire E15 E5-575G-57D4. I will be in the middle of typing, and then it will suddenly go into hibernate mode. Any idea what the problem is or how to fix it?

Would contacting Acer be any good? I contacted the store where I purchased my new Aspire E15, after taking back the first one with the SAME ISSUE, and they told me to contact Acer.....! Either I am incredibly unlucky, or this is a problem they need to address :( So disappointing buying a new laptop and having issues after a week.
