Acer X34 Predator inexplicable turns itself on at Windows 10 login/lock screen - why?

Hi everyone.

My Acer X34 Predator display acts up every time I boot my Windows 10 machine. When I turn it on, it shows its power-on logo as expected. Just a few seconds after the boot finishes and I see the Windows 10 Spotlight screen ("the login/PIN code/lock screen"), the screen powers off automatically and the power LED changes from blue to orange.

Moving the mouse of tapping a few random keys on the keyboard won't wake the screen - I have to physically press the power button to turn it back on again.

Any idea what's going on here? Any help is really appreciated!

(for the record, my Acer X34 is connected via DisplayPort to a single Nvidia GTX 1080 using the latest GeForce drivers (currently 388.13, version date 10/30/2017) at 3440 * 1440 px @ 60 Hz, and just about every Windows option has been left to its default settings)

Since this forum doesn't seem to allow you to edit your own posts - the topic title is, of course, all wrong. It should say "Acer X34 Predator inexplicable turns itself OFF at Windows 10 login/lock screen - why?"  :)

I'm having a similar problem. When I try to boot into safe mode I get a no bootable device error.

Just a suggestion, not sure if it will cure this issue.
Try turning off fast startup in Windows 10.
