Touch screen scroll stopped working Acer w510

Hi,

I have a new acer w510. The touch screen function suddenly stopped working, on the left side of the screen. I can't use the scroll function anymore. When I turn it upside down, I can't make the charms appear. One side of the screen has become frozen. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you for your help

Was there a windows update that you did just before this happened? I do know from experience that sometimes the windows drivers like to interfere with the drivers for the hardware in your comtpuer. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the touchscreen drivers to see if that kickstarts the tablet back into gear.

i don't know much about computers... how to reinstall the touchscreen driver?

also, i tried to restore my tablet to factory settings, but the message "cannot find the files needed" appears on the screen and i can't restore it...

Not need to unistall drivers , just install the driver package which would replace of old drivers.

Driver update 2.04 didn't fix this for my w510.

Anything else that I can do to diagnose this?

I have the same problem. In my case, it's the right side of the screen that doesn't work anymore. I can't use charms on windows 8.

    Very annoying.

same here on the right side. difficulty to activate the  charm bar but I success  if I rotate the screen.

I don‘t remember what I changed before problem occurs.

I m thinking it is a calibrating problem because I partially corrected this problem in recalibrating the screen with a smaller screen size (do not hit exactly the point)

Have any of you had the tablet dropped or shaken recently? You might see these symptoms if the wiring harness was loose.

    Hi all,

I have the exact same problem. Touchscreen not working, about an inch on the right side. So no chance of opening the charms bar.

My only "workaround" is to change the Display resolution to a smaller one, recalibrate the touchscreen with the smaller resolution, then reset the resolution to the standard size. Suddenly the touchscreen works flawlessly. So it seems to be a software issue, not a hardware problem.

Not a nice solution and it doesn't seem to fix it permanently. After some time the touchscreen stops working again...

Anyone else have a working permanent solution?

I have Windows 8.1, all updates installed and newest drivers from Acer Website.
