Liquid zest Plus. Phone will not ring. Only vibrate.

All audio works fine except for the ringer on the phone and messenger. When we get a call the phone only vibrates. Also cannot select any ringtones in settings, No sound when you press on different ringtones although on notification sounds it works fine. We have two of these phones in our home, both are having the same issue although they did not start at the same time. In settings the ring volume is turned to Max.

The phones are only a couple weeks old, system update wasnt needed- no new updates available and wanted to save factory reset for last resort. I did call Costco tech support where I bought the phones and they put me through to Acer tech support. Of course they had me do all the obvious stuff, settings, turn sliders up, that stuff. What they eventually suggested was turn the phone off, then hold the power button down for 20 seconds and let the phone power up again. Voila! worked for both phones, they both now ring audibly on phone and Messenger. I had powered the phones off and on previously but holding the power key for 20 seconds was the trick! Thanks for your help, hope this helps others.

I have the same issue with my Acer Liquid Zest phone, ringtone and vibrate are not working for incoming call (of course I set my ringtone to default ring tone and also to ring and not vibrate).

I reboot the phone and it works. BUT after I use Facebook messenger, it will happen again (ringtone and vibrate not working) and I need to reboot the phone again.

I call Acer and they suggested me doing the same "reset to factory" to see if it works but I don't want to do it since I will need to back up my phone for everything and I am not familiar with doing the phone back up and restore.

Is there any Acer phone app to do it?

Does the phone need O.S update? I was told that if you don't see the software update in the setting menu, it means that your phone is up to date.

Is there any other way to fix the issue or to make sure that O.S and Facebook app are up to date?

As I mentioned above, this is what I did to resolve the problem - turn the phone off, then hold the power button down for 20+ seconds and let the phone power up and down a few times. Seemed to solve the no ring issue. I did do a factory reset later for another problem, giant hassle reloading the phone again and eventually all the problems I have with the phone are replicating themselves. Bluetooth issues etc.

I would suggest if you can take the phone back and get a full refund, do so. I have until mid- July and will likely do the same.

Thank you for your advice. I agreed with you that reset to Factory is a hassle to backup data and restore after and it is not warnaty to fix the issue. The best way is to return the device; unfortunately, it is not easy and I don't think Cosco will do the return. It is more than 3 months and the phone has been used. The one year waranty is from Acer and not from the store we purchased. I think I will need to stick with rebooting to fix the issue every time I used Facebook messenger Smiley Sad
