    Ok I will try installing 10 updates at a time and see what happens. Can you please confirm that while you were streaming the video you were connected via wifi and not via a cable?

    Hi all,
    I'm living in Rome and I have the exaclty same issues with my new acer e5 571g 719q bought in Italy, a similar model. I had already send it to acer assistance describing the problem and it returned after a system reboot with a new wi fi card (a qualcomm atheros, before there was another one, a broadcom card), but wi fi issues not solved even after update of new official drivers. I live in a apartement builiding with a lot of other apartments around and so a lot of modems/routers connected around, like everyone in big cities, so I tried to change the wi fi modem channel from 6 to 9, I was looking for a channel freer, indeed wi fi connection started to go down slighlty less, so i changed wi fi channel again from 9 to 1 and wi fi connection started to go better, until after a week it restarted to loss connection in the same ways of other users here. Now my notebook is at acer assistance again, but it's hard to believe that this time it will be a better time.
    My notebook's resting more in assistance that in my room, it's a little laughable. I hope in a contract resolution if issues continue when it comes back from assistance cause i can't accept a new notebook impossible to keeps connected to internet, even if it's "fault" of windows upgrade, users want and have the right of immediate acer updates,

    Same here. I bought an E5-571G-55Y8 two months ago in Germany and since than I am experiencing the same problem. I have updated the drivers then upgraded my OS to Windows 10 but I am still losing WiFi connection very often, especially on high speed (50 Mbps).

    Does Acer plan to actually do something about this? I just cannot get my work done with such a serious problem.

     

    Some additional Info:

    network adapter is Qualcomm Atheros AR956x

    driver version is 10.0.0.321

    I have the more recent Aspire E5-575G Signature Edition with the same issue. While I'd really prefer to have Acer fix this on their own since they shipped it to me with a dysfunctional wireless card, I'd really rather get it fixed same day. What info can I provide geek squad or similar to get this squared away quickly?

    I have the same problem with wireless connectivity.  I have a V5-572P-6858 model.  I have had the computer since 2013, but it had wireless problems from the beginning, however it is getting worse.  Can I just go out and buy a new wireless card and self install or do I need the assistance of some third party vendor?

    Mine is coming up on a year old. I have a small USB wireless card, too, that actually supports 802.11ac. I'm not sure why a computer built 1 year ago would ship without something like that, but anyway, both cards encounter issues from time to time. The USB card overheats and the internal one is not reliable.

    I just spoke to an independent tech service provider about this. He said these models tend to run hot, particularly when the heat sinks aren't cleaned regularly, and that external (what I already have) is probably the best option anyway. It's about a year old, 6 months of heavy use following 6 months of light use. At this point it isn't quite enough to justify a whole new machine, but certainly doesn't make me want to hold on to it for too long.

    Last time I got an acer was under the same circumstances -- Acer was the lowest cost option that met my needs, and the machine didn't last more than 2 years. So... :'(

    Meantime, I guess I'll see if I can run an ethernet cable from my router to my desk!

    I have a USB wireless network card -- $20 on amazon. It overheats, too. It takes about 2 hours for either to overheat, and way less time to cool down, so I unplug the one and use the other while the first one cools. Then, I plug it back in while the internal one cools.

    I recently purchased an Acer Aspire and have the same problems. Have you determined which window update is causing this problem

    Bought this model was ca. 2 years ago. Besides the pretty bad display, it's the WiFi which is the real misery. I don't know how many hours I haved spent on these intermittent connection problem.
    So, in fact, I'm just repeating what a lot of other people have already stated. But since Acer has stopped writing here, it's clear that their support staff (if they really have any) is A) incompetent, or B) not willing to spend time on solving the problem. Or both. Or, it could be a built-in problem not possible to solve without hardware exchange.

    In any case, another Acer won't pass the threshold here.

    Lo and behold. Today WiFi came to life again. How? Why? Not sure. I disabled Bluetooth, ran Network troubleshooting (for the 117:th time), which reported WiFi was shut off. It was not shut off, but I pressed Fn+F3 - again - and suddenly the list of WiFi networks was displayed and I could connect.
