Did you boot from the USB stick to run chkdsk? Jack E/NJ

Did your recovery stick include advanced troubleshooting options? If not, did the ALT+F10 coldboot method offer advanced trouble-shooting options? Jack E/NJ

yes restore, image revocery, startup repair, command prompt, uefi firmware settings. Both restore and recovery options ultimately give me an error. Start up repair says it couldn't repair your PC.  As of right now the C: drive apparently is missing a partition and I can only boot from the USB into the recovery environment.

OK. Enter "diskpart" without the quotes. At the diskpart> enter "list disk" without the quotes. Can you identify the HDD? Probably HDD0. Jack E/NJ

OK. Enter "select disk 1". Then enter "clean" . Then enter "convert GPT". Finally enter "exit". Then try to run the recovery stick again. If this doesn't do it, you can try to run chkdsk /f or sfc scannow again as a last resort. Jack E/NJ

I don't mean to be a wet blanket but this may suggest trouble reading/writing/formatting the drive. I'll keep my fingers crossed. If it does work, you might want to check how much drivespace has actually been recovered or available relative to the drive's advertised capacity. Jack E/NJ

Ok. It's a 950 pro 512gb, the only thing I had on it was the OS and some other programs like steam.
