Does the Predator Helios 300 always ship without the HDD Caddy and Sata Cable?

Hi Guys,

I'm considering buying the Predator G3, but I have been reading all over Amazon and Acer Community that these laptops are shipping without the HDD Caddy and Sata cable. Is this always the case? If not, how can I ensure that these are shipped for sure when I order the product?

I need to be certain as my country does not have an Acer support center and I am going to ask someone to bring it for me from the US; which means that I would not be able to receive the HDD Caddy and Sata cable at a later date than the initial shipment of the laptop. In which case, only a 256 SSD would be kinda useless. I aim to buy the option with the 2 TB game drive bundle for which I will need the aforementioned parts.

The exact model I'm looking at is:

Predator Helios 300

Model Name: G3-571-77QK

Any help regarding the same would be greatly appreciated =)

  • I purchased my laptop from Amazon and it came with the HDD Caddy and SATA cable but there is no guarantees it will. It is completely random.

I am not completely understanding how you are getting it. Is someone in the US buying it, then getting it to you? If so have them check for the Caddy and then have them ship/bring it to you later. You can easily tell because the SATA plugin will be there if its already installed, simply unscrew the bottom panel and open it. The other option is buying the laptop with a hard drive already inside.

    Thanks for the reply Skelo.

I am having a relative purchase it in the US, then he will bring it to me in his luggage. And he will not be going back to the US and returning anytime soon.

If I could afford the laptop with the drive installed, trust me, I would :P

Furthermore, he is kinda old, so I can't really expect him to open up the laptop :/

If you don't mind me asking, when did you purchase the laptop? Was it the same model I plan to get? the one for $1100?
  • I got the same exact one you have posted, except I put a second 256 ssd in it instead of a hard drive. I ordered mine on August 25. Got it early September.

Since he is a relative, if the data cable and caddy are not in there you can use his address to have them ship it, then ask him to ship it to you. I don't know of another way honestly. And it's really small so shouldn't be that costly to ship. And everyone has shipped something in their lifetime (I hope).

    Hi all,

If your location is in another region than US or Canada, would need to contact your local technical support to inquire about ordering these parts in your country. If an physical address in the US or Canada can be provided, we will ship the parts to that address and they would then be responsible for mailing the parts to your current location, at your expense.

Note: Unfortunately we do not deliver packages to freight forwarder's addresses.

We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.
