Hi,

guarantee of my ACER laptop just ended 5 day ago and problems occured. It is necessary to say, that loose of performence didnt come from one day to other, but this process lasts cca 3 months, but it is interesting that only couple of days after end of guarantee it is nearly dead.

At the start during normall using laptop occured sometimes problem with performence of applications (games were going always good, so i dont suppose there is any problem with Graphic card). Problems occured more and more and when I was on any website mostly via by Chrome, it used to be enought slower, slower and slower.

Now I have got slow everything. I just formated all the C and installed Win 10 (notebook was delivered with Win 8.1).  Nothing helped. Starting of Windows last 5-10 min, surfing on web is nearly impossible (Facebook is totally dead), TaskMgr is loading 2 minutes  and what is really nonsencial is lagging of muouse in laptop (20 y.o. copmuter is faster than this notebook).

Dont you know what could be wrong with my notebook? I have tried probably all things what to do f.e.:

- reinstall Windows incl. format C

- uninstall all unwanted staff from Win (Onedrive, Soliter, Minecraft,...)

- optimalize startup to all cores, download all win. updates

- even at the end iactualized BIOS, etc.

Nothing helped me. Do you anyone know what could be a problem? SW (in PC I just have only Win and Chrome) or HW (RAM? - i often see f.e. in Chrome Waiting for cache or sth. similar / CPU  / ...)

If someone wants to say "Dont use Chrome", slow performance is in Windows, MS Edge, Origin, ... just in any app.

Than you for answers.

Can you check the hard drive usage? Most likely the problem is in the hard drive. If it has very high usage, while opening a browser or after a start-up that suggests the hard drive is faulty. Also longer start-up and mouse freezing also suggest that the hard drive has gone bad.

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

When I open Task Mgr -> Performance, then I see usage of Disc 100% almost everytime.

I just thought taht this is Win 10 bug...

Yes 100% usage most of the time means a bad hard drive. As you are out of warranty you will have to buy a new hard drive.

And what about the Note from Chrome: Waiting for cache... This could be too result of slow Windows caused by fault HDD?

Again it is from the HDD.

Okay thanks so much and maybe one more question.

As I said, originally I had on my laptop Wi 8.1 which was updated to Win 10. Will this Win 10 go too on my new SSD (of course if migration will be possible, because I feel it is so slow that HDD doesnt have to survive migation of Win to new SSD).

So Win 10 is connected to HDD serial / MAC adress/ or anything other? And will it go after transfer to new SSD or should I buy / download new Win?

    Once again, thank you.

You can migrate the OS to SSD, but for that you need a third party application.
