Perform a battery reset. Follow the steps shown here:
    https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/34843/~/acer-internal-battery-reset

The reason why the orange light flashes is to show that there is no charge left in the battery to turn on the laptop. Please check if there is any voltage present on charge's output(plug). If there isn't while charger is connected to power then it is a charger's fault.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Just the battery. If your battery is removable just remove it and after 5 minutes place it back in.

Probably as it is not charging the battery. You can check if it is working by checking if there is any voltage present at the charger's plug.
