I would like to upgrade my SP315-51-548W laptop from 8GB RAM to the maximum 12GB RAM. I want to know how to dissemble the hardware to perform the task.

Thanks brummyfan2. I followed the link and see the photo of the laptop opened up. I do not see where is the RAM. Do I need to dissemble more than just the back cover to access the RAM?

    Hi,

Yes, it may be on the other side, so may be complete disassembly required, I couldn't find any guides but if you wait a bit longer, someone else will chime in.

Thanks brummyfan2. I am hoping that I do not need to dissemble too much to perform the RAM upgrade. Yes, I will wait for someone can help me out. Thanks again!

Well, just incase you havent done so. There is a black flap in the back of the laptop, all you have to do is lift up that flap and the ram should be in plain view. Just becarefull not to lift too much.

    Hi OGScoops,

Thanks for your help. But the back of the SP315-51 is a solid piece with 12 screws on it. Where do you find the black flap? Please let me know.

Sorry I should have been clear.
To access the RAM you must remove the back cover. To do that remove the 12 screws and remove the back cover. Once that has Been removed, unplug the battery. To the left you should see a black shiny plastic flap that one you lift up you should see the ram. Be careful that to complete rip it off for warranty reasons.
If you need better more help just asked writing this in a hurry.

Thanks for clarifying it for me. With your information I will go ahead and order the memory. Once the memory arrives I will attempt to upgrade. I will let you know how it goes. Thank you again for your help.
