Installed Samsung EVO 960 M.2 but Intel Rapid Storage Technology software is not detecting it
Hi,
I recently had my Predator upgraded. I change the default liteon SSD to a Samsung EVO 960 M.2. I had this installed on the service center so am sure the procedures were done correctly. Now my problem is this, when i check on Intel Rapid Storage Technology, it is only able to detect the HDD, and previously when I had the LiteOn SSD it was also able to detect it. But now, my new SSD (Samsung) does not appear on the list. I brought it back to the service center but even there technician was not able to fix the problem.
Anyone experience this problem and can you share with me how you fixed it?
Thanks!

laptop model?
is the samsung recognised on BIOS?
is your BIOS updated to the latest?

Yes you will want to uninstall or at least disable from autostart the intel app. Download the Samsung App Magician...here is the link:
http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools.html
This will optimize your new storage device and set it up correctly...this utility is the one you should now be using.
It is easy to use and will immediately recognize your device and the performance tuning routines are turn key and dead simple.
I have attached a screenshot of the app intterface on my predator...I use it on my work systems too.
Hope this helps!

This might be a better link as it is right through your product page:
Hit the software downloads after you scroll down to the bottom of the page

Cheers!

Hey one other thing...it's possible your installer already installed the magician so check the start/search. If it's not installed then download and install. If it is already installed then use it to check on your drive not the Intel utility. Disable from autostart as well. Hope this helps.

Model # : Acer Predator G9-593 and yes, bios recognizes the the samsung and my OS is currently installed on it. Am assuming my bios is updated to the latest as I always check for latest update on Acer Care Center, not unless i need to do that manually?
Thanks for the response and assistance!

latest BIOS version is 1.09
check on Acer care your BIOS version or using:
windows logo key + r
type
msinfo32
look at BIOS DATE/Version string
i can only think at NVMe driver issue, since Samsung use its own:
i suggest you to install it, since the Microsoft default are not so good.
or the iRST version installed on your laptop is old and can't recognise the EVO 960

The Samsung Magician installs the correct driver .

Hi there, first sorry this is not about my Acer laptop (i also have one) but it's about my sisters Asus laptop and I hope you still can help me out.
I also got the Samsung 960 evo m.2 ssd and put it in my Asus laptop ... so far so good, in fact it's working great. But then I installed this: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26865/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-?product=55005 and the problems began. My Samsung Magician software could'nt read the m.2 samsung 960 evo anymore after the installation of this intel rapid storage ... then I decided to restore windows 10 back to an earlier time and then during installation I get a blue screen saying: ''stopcode: inaccessible boot device''
Then I decided to do a fresh windows 10 install but when I want to install Windows 10 then there is no drive to install Windows 10 on, the laptop cannot find the Samsung 960 Evo anymore.... Can someone help me out??Big thanks in advance!
