Hello Johann1, if your laptop model is G9-593 or g9-793, then this is normal(others have it too). What you need to do is switch the power settings from Nvidia control panel to 'adaptive' or 'optimal' and this should stop the spontaneous restarting of your machine. Use 'maximum performance' only while plugged to the charger.

Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

    Hi ven 98 & TY 4 responding.

No, I have G5-793 model and 4 those settings on this model I`ve Predator Sense program.

I`ts set to lower (normal) setting, but still. And It`s not restarting, just turning off like if there is no batt in it at all.

It`s this model: https://www.cnet.com/products/acer-predator-17-g5-793-73nz-17-3-core-i7-7700hq-16-gb-ram-256-gb-ssd-plus-1-tb-hdd/specs/ , just not USA, but EU. & of course, I tried You solution too, but...

Does your device turn off right after you pull the charger's plug, or it happens from time to time? Turbo and Faster settings don't work on your laptop(you can try and see that nothing changes). What I am saying is to go to Nvidia Control Panel(your graphics driver), and there to change the power management setting from high performance to adaptive.

Yes, m8, it dies instantly when I pull cable out. And it doesn`t work - start without cable.

In Nvidia CP I don`t have any option 4 power managment at all. Only graphic performance/quality, wich I now set to middle.

Some EU model - stuff - thing perhaps.

Tommorow it goes back to store!

    TY man

So definitely an issue with the laptop, because you cannot turn it on when not plugged in.

Hey there, I've been experiencing this problem too, same laptop, i'll have the laptop unplugged, and it will randomly shut off, usually below 50% battery, third time it's happened since I got the laptop in the beginning of April. Any way to fix without having to send it out?
