Press & hold the power button till the power light goes out. It may take 5 seconds. Then press the power button once to re-start the machine. If you still don't see a screen, trying pressing the Fn+F6 toggle key combination. Jack E/NJ

I'm only getting the led light on the motherboard and that's about it when using both of your methods

OK. Next, press & hold power button till machine shuts off. Then connect it to an external TV with an HDMI cable. Then press the power button once to re-start.  You may have to turn the TV screen on with the Fn+F5 key combo? Do you see a TV screen? Jack E/NJ

I would need a vga converter which I currently do not have
    There are no vga ports

No VGA connectors or convertors are involved. Do you have an LCD screen TV? This TV should have an HDMI connector. Your laptop should also have an HDMI connector. Jack E/NJ

    Oh sorry
    I'd realized you said hdmi
    But as I said
I'm only getting the led light
It won't boot up even with the led light on the motherboard

Did you also try to turn the TV screen on with the Fn+F5 toggle key combination? If this still doesn't work, and you don't even see the ACER boot logo screen, then I suspect that either a connector to the motherboard has been jarred loose or the motherboard itself has been damaged. About how far did the laptop fall? A foot? Two feet? Even further? Jack E/NJ

I tried it but it never work as well
The laptop fell from about a foot
So if it is the motherboard is the trouble
Can you say anything that I can check on it to see where the problem is?
If the motherboard is severely damage, would you recommend getting another motherboard or laptop?

Google "e5-571" "disassembly" for instructions on how the access the ribbon cable and other connectors to an from the mainboard. I suggest that you first try to simply re-seat as many of them as you can easily reach including the hard drive, the RAM modules and the battery. Also look for any obvious broken connections. If it still doesn't boot after taking these measures, then it might more practical to get a new laptop than trying to replace the mainboard. Jack E/NJ
